Frequently Asked Questions
Web Hosting is an Internet service that allows you to make your website accessible to others.
Once you purchase a hosting package with GetHost, your site will be stored on one of our servers. Your site will be assigned a DNS, a unique address that allows people all around the world to find and view your site.
The type of web hosting you need depends on what you want to do with your site, like whether you want to create a shopping cart, blog, or podcast with a specific Web application.
If you’re not sure of the type of hosting and/or package that would best suit your needs, you can contact our support team through our live chat or by phone. We can advise you as to which package would best suit your specific needs.
Our Get Gold Web Hosting plan allows you to host multiple websites. You can also use these plans to set up various names (aliases) for your site and direct visitors to specific pages.
If you’ve built your website in a HTML editor, like Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Studio, you have to upload your website files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). We also have a built-in File Manager that you can access in Plesk, which is a web management portal we provide you with, which allows you to manage your hosting account.
However, if your files are larger than 20 MB, we recommend using the tool FileZilla, which works with various operating systems, or another third-party FTP client.
Relocating your existing website to GetHost is a simple process. We offer free website relocation assistance.
If you have access to your existing website files, you can upload them through Plesk / Cpanel file manager or via an FTP client. If you don’t have a current copy of your website, you should be able to request one from your current website hosting provider.
Our support team can help you with this transition if you have any questions or if you encounter any difficulties.
You will receive a welcome e-mail with your login credentials.
